Question 1

What is NYCT DJs Pricing?

Accepted Answer

Our wedding entertainment packages start at $2,950, which includes a 5-hour reception, a DJ + MC team, premium sound system, setup and breakdown, and travel within CT and NY, MA, and RI border areas. We also offer a wide range of enhancements—photo booths, ceremony sound, uplighting, live musicians, and more—so you can customize your experience to match your vision. Most couples invest between $3,500 and $6,500, depending on the size, location, and extras they choose. Due to demand starting in 2026, peak season minimums will apply for Saturday events. To get a personalized quote and walk through your options, we recommend booking a quick consultation with our team.

Question 2

What types of music do your DJs play?

Accepted Answer

At NYCT DJs, music is more than background noise — it's the heartbeat of your entire celebration. Our DJs are experts across all genres and generations — from classic Motown, funk, and disco to 90s throwbacks, early 2000s bangers, and the latest TikTok dance hits. We're fluent in Top 40, Hip-Hop, Latin, Afrobeats, EDM, House, Y2K and 90s/2000s Pop & R&B, old-school funk, rock classics, indie, and Jewish, Filipino, Greek, Italian, Indian, Caribbean, and other cultural specialties. We don't show up with a pre-made playlist or hit autoplay. Instead, we build your soundtrack from the ground up: ceremony music that feels cinematic and emotional, cocktail hour sets that feel like you, and reception dance floors that stay packed with every generation.

Question 3

How far in advance should we book our DJ?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking 9–15 months in advance, especially for peak wedding dates (May–October). Some couples book earlier for popular venues and dates—we often book out Fridays & Saturdays a year ahead.

Question 4

Do you travel outside of Connecticut?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We regularly perform at weddings throughout Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Travel is included within a reasonable radius, and we're happy to quote custom travel fees for destinations outside the tri-state area.

Question 5

Can we customize our playlist or must-play songs?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You'll get a planning form where you can list your must-plays, do-not-plays, ceremony music, first dance, and more. We combine your taste with our flow and experience to create a packed dance floor all night.

Question 6

Do you offer ceremony sound or cocktail hour music?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer wireless sound systems for ceremonies (perfect for outdoor spaces), lapel mics for officiants, and background music for cocktail hour. These can be added to any package.

Question 7

What's the difference between your DJ and MC roles?

Accepted Answer

The MC handles the flow—introductions, announcements, and hyping up your guests. Our DJs focus on the music, mixing tracks, and keeping the dance floor energized so the MC can handle formalities and dance floor duties. Together, they coordinate a b2b set during peak hours to make music, effects, lighting, and dancing all come together.

Question 8

What happens if our MC or DJ gets sick or has an emergency?

Accepted Answer

We've got you covered. We have a deep bench and network of professional DJs and MCs in our crew. If an emergency arises, we have backup talent ready—so your event runs smoothly no matter what. This is why we always send two-person teams to every wedding: one MC/DJ and one DJ Assistant, fully prepared with all your ceremony, formality, and party music and equipment day of.
